When you create a new page (not a product or a solutions page), you need to select which page template to use. The page template options are found under Page Attributes/Template. There are 4 page templates for you to choose from:
1. Default
2. Full Width
3. Three Column
4. Two Column
The Default Template is the first option, however it is not likely to be the template you use the most. The Default template has 3 notable features:
1. It does not support a Featured image or gallery
2. It does not have a left column where one navigates from page to page
3. It does have a right sidebar for inserting widgets
Full Width
1. It supports a featured image and optional gallery (gallery not shown below)
2. It does not have a left column or right column
Like the Default template, Full Width template does not have a left column so it is best used as a standalone page. One where there are no other parent or child pages associated with it.
Featured Image and Gallery Tips
- The Full Width, Three Column and Two Column templates supports a featured image and a gallery. These pages were designed with the intention that there would be a featured image. If you create a page with one of these templates and do not have a featured image, you will get a warning message letting you know there is no featured image. The page can still be published
- without a featured image. However, if you put an image in the post/body of the page, and there is no featured image, that image by default will become the featured image at the top of the page. While it may appear that you can remove that image as the featured image; unless another featured image is identified, it will be placed again as the featured image.
- Any page that supports a featured image, also supports a gallery. Note that Galleries are optional.
- From time to time Steelcase may find some great pictures of environments. When this happens they will be loaded to the media library and made available on DealerWeb. The file name for these images will begin with 00.11. This allows you to easily search for these images.+
