DealerWeb provides a Fixed Activity Bar at the bottom of your visitor’s browser. This bar makes it easy for the customer to find the Contact Us information for your dealerships. The Fixed Activity Bar is smart and changes its display when the user adds items to their cart.

Your site is currently configured with the Default View. It is not necessary to make any changes to the default. However if you would like to make changes, follow the instructions below for customizing these new features.

Default View (no items in the cart)

Default View (with items in the cart)

Notice how the Contact Us statement is replaced with the thumbnails of the products in the cart and the Contact Us button is replaced with the Quote Request button.

This new functionality leverages two features in DealerWeb:

  1. Contact & Quote: A new feature in DealerWeb where you control, button names, page titles, contact us statement and which form you want presented when someone presses the Contact Us or Request a Quote link.
  2. Gravity Forms: For each feature; Contact Us and Request a Quote, you can create your own gravity form to present to the user. By default the site is sharing one form for both features. That form is: Request a Quote.

Contact & Quote

You can make changes to the Activity bar under Settings > Contact & Quote

Quote Request Page

When someone views the items in their quote, they are viewing a Gravity form that resides on a page. That page is
located on your dashboard under Pages > Quote Request.

This page does three things:

  1. It is the page title that your users will see when they are viewing the items in their quote.
  2. It contains instructions for the user.
  3. It is the page where you tell your site what gravity form to present to the visitor.
This page allows you to change the page title, provide more detailed instructions for the customer, or present the user with a different gravity form than the default one.

Contact Page

When your visitor has no items in their cart, the button on the Fixed Activity Bar will say Contact Us. By default your site is using the Quote Request page (above). If you would prefer to have visitors presented with a different page and gravity form, simply create that page and insert the gravity form into it. Then select that page on the Contact and Quote tab.

Gravity Forms

When someone selects the Contact Us button or wants to view the products in their cart, they will be taken to a Form. By default your site is using the Request a Quote form which is located in your Forms section.

To Edit the Request a Quote form, select the Edit button under the form name.

At the launch of this new functionality we wrote a script to send Quote Request forms to the “sales” address identified

in Settings > Dealer Settings. If your site did not have a “sales” email address identified at the time of launching this new feature, then all Quote Requests will be sent to the administrator email identified in Settings/General. Going forward if you want to change who receives the Quote Request, you need to edit the Request A  Quote form and change the email address in the Notifications section. This form operates like all other Gravity Forms on your site. There are a couple unique things you should be aware of:

  • The Products line item is an advanced field and should not be removed or edited. This displays the products on the form when the user adds an item to their quote request.
  • If you want a separate form for the Contact Us button, you can create it here and then you need to
    • Create a page for that form to reside
    • Add that form to the page using the Add Form feature
    • Link the Page to the Contact Us button as described in the Contact & Quotes section above.
